Learning About InfertilityIf you and your partner have been trying to have a baby for a year or more, you're not alone. In fact, 1 in 8 couples will have trouble conceiving sometime during their reproductive years. During this time, you may experience frustration, jealousy, guilt, and anger, all of which are normal feelings. However, once you begin to explore your medical options, you'll find that breakthroughs in medications, surgery, and Assisted Reproduction Technologies (ART) offer more hope for a successful pregnancy than ever before. Pregnancy is now possible for the majority of couples pursuing treatment. Once you receive a thorough evaluation by a health care professional, the cause of infertility can usually be determined as either male and/or female. Once the diagnosis is made, you and your partner can move on to select a treatment option that is right for you.
Please note: We invite you to learn more about the causes of, testing for, and treatment of infertility. If you have any questions or concerns, please consult your health care professional.
