"Our Beautiful Little Miracle"
The Bos family and their little miracle, Hailey Danielle; Greer, South Carolina

I am 41 years old and my husband, John, is 39. We are both airline pilots and had blue skies and tailwinds in our lives, meaning that life for us was full and almost complete. That was until we reached our late 30s when we realized that having a child would complete our world.

Our journey began in 2000. We tried for 2 years to conceive naturally but, due to my age and John’s “male factor” (low sperm count), it just did not happen. We became extremely frustrated, realizing that we might have waited too long to start a family. I was recording my temperature every day in an effort to maximize our timing, but with no success.

We began working with Dr. John Nichols, a reproductive endocrinologist in Greenville. We tried other infertility treatments in conjunction with IUI, but each effort left us childless. Dr. Nichols suggested super-stimulation using Repronex and Novarel with IUI.

That was the ticket. We got pregnant in May 2003, on the very first cycle with Repronex, but sadly we miscarried at 16 weeks. However, we were determined to have a healthy baby, so we tried the same procedure and drugs 3 months later, in December. We were again successful! That pregnancy stuck and we are now blessed with the most beautiful little girl in the world—our miracle, Hailey Danielle!

I often look back on my life and wonder why I waited so long to start a family. However, I get a reality check every time I look into my daughter’s eyes. I waited this long because I needed HER. My career filled in the childless void until she came along. I have since resigned from commercial flying in order to raise this precious miracle.

We are forever grateful for the miracle of modern medicine, especially Ferring Pharmaceuticals, for offering such successful infertility treatments as Repronex. Without the opportunity to experience this drug, our lives might still be childless.

Because of our success with Repronex, I am pleased to announce that we have just completed another successful round of treatments in the hopes of conceiving a healthy sibling for Hailey. We just found out today, August 30, 2005, that we are pregnant once again!
